TEM is a developer of high-integrity, high-quality carbon offsetting projects in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region. TEM works with landowners, including farmers, businesses and impact investors to develop and manage projects that generate carbon offsets.
These projects deliver long-lasting impacts for people and the planet, above and beyond carbon abatement. Supported by comprehensive ongoing due diligence and monitoring to report on the environmental, social and economic benefit of our projects. Our projects strictly follow internationally recognised standards and are independently audited as required by regulation.
We specialise in:
Domestic (Australia)
We specialise in integrating carbon methodologies and agricultural land management to optimise agricultural productivity while benefiting the environment. The type so of carbon farming projects we specialise in includes:
- Human-induced regeneration (HIR)
- A current example: Wongamere project
- Environmental planting (EP)
- Beef cattle herd management method
- Savanna burning
International (APAC)
Our Asia-Pacific project team work to develop carbon projects with a focus on local community engagement, empowerment and wellbeing. This includes improved cookstove projects and rainforest conservation. Examples include:
- Papua New Guinea Healthier Homes, Healthier Forests project
- Laos Electric Induction Cookstove Project
Ways you can get involved in carbon projects
We offer a range of carbon project development opportunities at varying investment levels to suit your needs, from joint investment and long-term contracts to complete project acquisition.
Our project development services
TEM has expertise in carbon project origination and can offer a complete suite of project development services, assisting in the development of projects. With teams located within Australia and across the Asia Pacific region, our experts have a wealth of knowledge about the process of developing your carbon project.
Project feasibility (preliminary desktop assessments)
This includes selecting the project method which best suits the land and calculating potential carbon credit generation and overall financial viability of a project in the selected methodology.
Detailed due diligence, including ground-truthing
The TEM team will visit the site and collect data from the land to refine method selection, carbon yield and financial viability, ensuring the project is accurate and sustainable. TEM will also work with the landholder to understand their skills and strengths, and determine how a carbon project can be integrated and complement any existing farming practices or land-uses.
Service proposal and project planning
From the desktop and on-ground work, a project plan will be developed that includes the extent of the project, timeline, resources needed and capital required for implementation. This is created with the landholder to ensure all parties are ready to go when upfront capital is secured.
Risk assessments and mitigation plans
TEM provides a detailed risk assessment report and mitigation plans to provide confidence. This includes the risk of, and mitigation actions for events such as bush or wildfires, floods, droughts and human impacts.
Project registration and implementation
Once the land has been through the above checks and processes, it’s time register the project and commence implementation. TEM manages the documentation process and all communication with government bodies for registration.
Ongoing project management
The TEM team continue to provide ongoing project management and provide updates where necessary. This can include developing ongoing integrated farming practices, organising any on-ground work required and day-to-day record keeping and communications.
Agriculture and carbon project integration (project methodology dependent)
TEM supports the balance of agriculture production with the carbon project requirements, this includes the development of integrated farm and carbon plans and ensuring both deliver benefits to all parties involved.
Monitoring, reporting and verification
TEM provides ongoing monitoring of the project both on-ground and remotely to ensure reporting is frequent and carbon credits issued.
Access to market for sale of offsets
TEM becomes your trusted partner in access to the carbon market and trading where needed utilising our network of offtake customers.
So, whether you are a landowner interested in understanding the feasibility of your land as a carbon project, a business looking to extend your impact and secure future supply or an impact investor ready to help scale a project, TEM will support you every step of the way.
